Your Best Advice: Planning 4+ days in Nice

We will be in Nice in Oct (afternoon of the 10th thru to morning of the 18th) and we fear that we will not have nearly enough time to see all that we want. Of course, we want to see Old Nice; maybe there are bus tours (?) and Chagall, Matisse and day trips to Villefranche,Eze,Monaco, Menton. Are there good bus tours? Is the train more adviseable? Do the Hotels usually have brochures of day trips/tours? Will we have enough time to visit Grasse? Any and all suggestions for wifey and me (both young at 60) would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

There is a 2 hour grande bus tour of Nice that takes in the main points of interest but you are best to make your own plans for the rest of the Riviera. %26quot;Tours%26quot; are expensive and add little value

Both train and Bus will take you cheaply and easily to all the destinations you mention.

One plan would be to venture off to one of your destinations for the morning, and return to Nice for further exploration late afternoon, and dine out.

Monaco is a good half day. Grasse is on the trainline via Cannes, which would make a good combined day out

Mentonis ok but less to see and do - more a holiday resort whoose most interesting feature are the many gardens which will have gone off by October. Your call

Eze is very popular, as are other medieval villages like Haut de Cagnes and St Paul de Vence - make one of these an excursion

Enough for now

Cheers
