Self Catering for a week near Vire. How can I find out about the local food markets in and around the area.

The main Vire market is on Friday morning.
I think the Conde sur Noireau one is on the Thursday morning.
The tourist information office should have a list of the markets.
The office is near the main car park.
Hope you enjoy your stay. We have a second home near Vire and we are there from Wednesday for a week.

Villedieu des Poeles is Tuesday and Saint Lo is Saturday. Port en Bessin (bit of a drive to the coast - Between Omaha and Gold beaches) has a lively Sunday morning market. St Hilaire de Harcouet is Wednesday (I think).

Forgot to mention Torigni sur Vire (about 20km due north of Vire) is on Monday (and has a cattle market as well) So that should give you one for every day of the week!

Thanks for Info. We stayed in Port en Bessin last year and yes we visited the market on Sunday! Did the usual WW2 sites and Bayeux Tapestry. This year thinking of Mont St Michel, Granville area for a sandy beach Avranches. Any other useful gems?
We would like to have a nice meal out but the rest of the time will sample market and supermarket french fare!

There%26#39;s a nice restaurant at Beny Bocage Le Petit%26#39;Hotte or Les Bruyeres on the N175 heading towards Villedieu. Also Le Vrai Normand, in Vire itself.
