HELP! Barcelona, Provence, Paris

I am planning a last minute trip to Spain and France for next month.

We are flying into Barcelona and leaving from Paris 10 days later.

Can someone recommend how to divide our time between Barcelona, Provence and Paris?

Where in Provence would be best if we only have a few days?

Thanks for any guidance that can be given.

I know nothing about Barcelona.

What do you like doing? Cities? Countryside?

Nice is a good central convenient spot in Provence. There%26#39;s quick easy connections galore from Nice to places like Monaco. Or did you mean something more inland? I like the entire Cote d%26#39;Azur area there in September. The weather is still great and the crowds are gone. If you want to see something like St Tropez, St Raphael might make a good base camp for at least one night. It%26#39;s not far from Nice.

well the Provence is not the Cote d%26#39;Azur ....

Barcelona is a 2 days minimum stay. But then will you rent a car or you take a train to Paris ?

you have a train leaving Barcelona at 8h45am and arriving at Montpellier at 1h16pm, then you can rent a car and visit the surrondings on the road to Avignon or take the TGV to Avignon, rent a car for one day then take the TGV to Paris. Because i think that it is not possible to rent a car in Spain and leave it France, different country ....

Something like 2 days Barcelona 5 Days Provence %26amp; 3 Days Paris might give an enjoyable balance.

Nice is fine if you want the Cote d%26#39;Azur but if you really want to see Provence you need to be much farther inland.

Somewhere east of Cavaiilon between there and Apt off the N100 would open up plenty of possibilities.

You have the perched villages and you can easily travel north into the Vaucluse.

Avignon is within easy reach and you can also explore south between there and Aix from there.

I have some Provence postings on My Trip Advisor that may be of interest and many others have good info if you do a search on the forum.

If I can help with anything specific help please ask.

Neal

PS You don%26#39;t say if you are hiring a car - it is essential in Provence.
