The train goes JLP - Nice no problem - the station is ten minutes walk in from the sea front.

The TAM 200 bus Nice bound for Cannes doesnt actually go very close to JLP, it follows the main road which is some way off

Thank you so much. With regards to the train would I get on at Nice airport or Nice train station? If it%26#39;s the train station how do I get there from the airport? Also when I buy the ticket do you have any idea which train I need and is juan les pins the station I need to get off at or antibes?

From JLP to the airport the fare is about five euro, from the ticket desk or %26quot;blue%26quot; ticket machines - have loose change available to cover it. You need to take the train stopping at all stations (%26quot;toutes les gares%26quot;) and be certain it will be stopping at Nice St Augustin. .

Some trains run what they call %26quot;semi-direct%26quot; - which means they leave some stations out. Most do stop at Nice St Augustin, even when they drop the little stations like Biot and Cros de Cagnes., but not all! If you are on a schedule, you dont want to find yourself whisking past St Augustin off to Nice Ville!

Getting off at St Augustin you need to allow a good ten to fifteen minutes to walk around the Office complex and cross the various roads and underpasses to the airport, which is in your line of sight.. This will get you on foot to Terminal One.

If your flight is Terminal Two - (Check! T!1or T2?) - you need to take the free Navette from One to Two - add another ten minutes

It will all work fine - if you leave the slack necessary for all these little interconnections.

If you pull this one off come back as an %26quot;expert%26quot;! Most people just pay up for taxi%26#39;s and car hire, and never get the pleasure of mastering the system as the French would.

Cheers

Thanks. Just to confirm I need to take a walk from the airport ( seen exact direction on previous posts) to

St Augustin Station rather than Nice Ville station? then from St Augustin catch an all stations train direct to juan les pins? Sorry to sound sily

Hi Jules,

Yes, find your way from terminal 2 ,(if you%26#39;re coming from Newcastle on the Easyjet flight) to terminal 1 using the free shuttle bus which pulls up just outside the arrivals hall.

From there follow the directions from previous posts as you%26#39;ve said.

Incidently, the information desk at the airport has a printed copy ((and a diagram) of the directions with train times on the back of it ,which they will give you if you ask for it.

The walk to Nice St Augustin station is fine during the day, but maybe a bit hot !

Enjoy your stay

Hi Jules,

Might be worth knowing....

Just had a look and your hotel seems like it%26#39;s only 50 metres from where the slow bus ,Ligne 200 actually stops on its way to Cannes. The bus goes directly from Nice Airport terminal 1- so again you would need to take the shuttle between terminals. The stop you need is LA REGENCE.

If you look at

http://www.rca.tm.fr , and put in Ligne 200, you will get timetables and a diagram of the route it takes.

Suggest you email your hotel for directions from the bus stop- they can%26#39;t be complicated as it%26#39;s so close!

Not sure when you%26#39;re planning to travel though- if it%26#39;s high season , then the slow bus is very very slow, but it does mean there is an alternative to the train.

Hope this helps

Thanks very much. Our friends are staying at the ambassadeur, can they too walk from the bus stop? What%26#39;s a better option do you think bus or train? Also can we get to cannes and monnaco from JLP station?

|||

Hello again Jules,

Think your friends could use the same bus stop , but it would be a bit further for them to walk. The train station is between your hotels. Again, probably best to email the Ambassadeur direct for full information.

If you are travelling outside of peak season, the bus is slower but easier beacause you can catch it straight from Terminal 1 at the airport and it drops you so close to your hotel.

If your journey is in the next few weeks,(and the trains aren%26#39;t on strike) I would choose the train because of potentially horrendous traffic jams. Costs of both the train and bus are minimal (~4 euros vs. 1.30)

You can catch the train to both Cannes and Monte Carlo and other places along the coast from the rail station in Juan Les Pins- there will be timetables at the rail station. Only thing to remember is that JLP is a smaller station and not all trains stop there so read carefully!

Have a great holiday
