Special occasion meal with a view of the Ventoux?

We shall be staying near Cavaillon this summer and it%26#39;s a special occasion :-) Has anyone any recommendations for a restaurant for lunch, within reasonable travelling distance, maximum €50 each, ideally on a nice shady terrasse with a view of Mont Ventoux? We need good food, but the setting and general ambience are more important. Online menus would be a bonus!

I vote for Mas des Vignes in Bedoin. It is actually on the way up the Ventoux and the view is to Avignon - a sweeping, gorgeous, unforgettable view. Reserve a table on the terrace and tell them it is for a special occasion. Menus in the 40 range.

Here are a couple of web reviews. They don%26#39;t seem to have their own site.

As far as views go, La Poterne in Brantes is another option. However, it is not a gastronomic experience. The food is simple bistro fare, but the view...... oh the view. It is a bit over from Entrechaux and Vaison. Reservations also required. Menus around 13 euros.

Well, we didn%26#39;t actually get to either, though we drove back down the Ventoux towards Bedoin and admired the view :-)

We eventually used the sites you recommended, plus the Michelin and other guides, and made a short list of restaurants to visit beforehand (there was a vegetarian in the group, so we needed to be sure this was going to be understood before we booked).

Anyway, the decision was lunch at the Verger des Papes in Châteauneuf du Pape, which has a view of the Ventoux from the car park, and then the terrace overlooks the village and the Rhone, towards Avignon. Lovely spot and a really good celebration.

We%26#39;ll have to come back to try the Mas des Vignes ;-)

Glad you enjoyed the restaurant you chose.

There is always the future for the two I mentioned.
