Paris in November -- Dressing for Weather

Hi! My husband and I will be in Paris in November and were wondering what kind of coat we should bring. We live in Miami, so Paris will certainly be colder than where we will be coming from.

Would a knee length wool coat be too warm for that time of year? Would a hip length one be better? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Robin

We went last November for Thanksgiving Week. It was definitely colder than Texas. But the highs were probably 45 or so. Colder at night. It rained some of every day we were there also which made things more chilly. Paris is great in the cold and in the rain so enjoy.

We%26#39;ve also enjoyed Paris in November-Thanksgiving week. I recommend a rain coat, with a sweater or jacket under.

And I recommend rain-proof shoes! My feet got wet in the puddles. Never fear the rain, Paris is still wonderful.

November can be rainy and/or humid. Bring a smart looking medium light-weight jacket. Weatherproof if you can find one (if you do, let us know, I haven%26#39;t yet found a weatherproof that looks ok, unless it%26#39;s to take the dog out).

As to length, it depends on what you feel comfortable with.

Think of leggings to wear under jeans and pants, warm socks, a nice scarf, umbrellas.

And layers to wear under the jacket or maybe without the jacket. Who knows, you might hit the best November weather that Paris has had in years.

This is the perfect excuse to buy lots of great Parisian scarves. :)
