Cost of meals and drinks?

Hi, We are heading to Paris next week and staying for a week before exploring France. Can anyone give me an idea of the approx. cost of a restaurant meal/bottle of wine/beer at a middle of the road place.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Peter

Yeesh, that%26#39;s tough. %26quot;Middle of the road%26quot; is so subjective. There%26#39;s very good and cheap eats (including a glass of wine) in the pedestrian streets of the 5th. (However, that area is not for everyone!) I would wager a good guess and say you%26#39;re looking at around $40 for a decent meal with a glass of wine, or beer. The fixed price menu is really a wonderful thing for those on a budget. Always check the menu outside to see what%26#39;s included and the prices!

To clarify-- that%26#39;s $40/person. :)

hiya - you can get a fixed price menu for €9 cheap - €22 that would give you a fairly nice sort of meal. You can eat very cheaply in Paris - there%26#39;s beautiful baguettes and pastries, coffee, wine, crepes, etc that are sold everywhere. If you%26#39;re staying in an apartment, it%26#39;s even more economical.

Last October, my mother, sister and I had a budget of €75 for the 3 of us for each day...staying in an apartment and cooking our own breakfast (eggs, bacon, etc) and having a main meal and snacks, we never used all of the money in one day....and I%26#39;d consider we ate very healthily and well. We didn%26#39;t do any flash restaurants but joined the locals in cafes, etc.

Buy wine in the supermarkets from €3....(you%26#39;re not getting Marlborough quality, but it%26#39;s not terrible) up to whatever you want to spend....
