Lunch in Calais

I%26#39;m sure this is a very standard question but I%26#39;ll shortly be spending a day in Calais on foot and wondered if you could recommend a restaurant that wouldn%26#39;t mind someone who doesn%26#39;t speak French. Also any suggestions of a good place to buy a couple of bottles of wine - I%26#39;m not interested in going to the hypermarket.

And is the museum worth a visit?

Firstly what museum?

Secondly head for the rue Royale %26amp; the Place d%26#39;Armes the rue Royale has dozens of cafés, brassereis and restaurants to suit all tastes , your menus will be in English

At the back of the Place d%26#39;Armes is a small wine shop Le Cave a Vins (I seem to recall) quite often has and old fashined truck parked outside and a wine press on the pavement

Here%26#39;s a map you may find useful:

Also a couple of restaurants where they welcome the English and speak the language well:

Can%26#39;t think of any museum in Calais as such, but you might like to take a stroll past the rather spectacular looking town hall and say hello to the Rodin statue of the Burghers of Calais - I always pay these altruistic chaps a visit in their home town if I get a chance!

Lace Museum - Parc Richelieu ?

WWII Museum - Parc St Pierre ?
