Bars and Restaurants Latin Quarter

We are just going to be in Paris for three nights. We are staying in the Latin Quarter - Best Western Jardin de Cluny.

After spending most of our days walking to the sites of Paris we will probably want to take a stroll to eat out in the evenings, not too far from the hotel.

Any suggestions? We don%26#39;t want fancy just a nice, reasonably priced meal, maybe somewhere where locals might eat. Our French is practically non existent but we are trying.

We wondered if many of the local restaurants might be closed due to it being August, when we understand a lot of parisians take a holiday.

Thanks

Le Bourbon at 20, r Xavier Privas.

You can sit outside the restaurant and watch the people walk by. We usually start with a salad Nicoise, then moules frites and always order a bottle of wine. All of this usually costs 30.00 e.

Do try L%26#39;Époque on rue du Cardinal-Lemoine at Place de la Contrescarpe - one of my favourite places to eat in Paris - a traditional, family owned and run restaurant with excellent food and friendly service at reasonable prices. It is popular with the local residents and students in the area. It should be open in August.

Another excellent restaurant in the area is Chez Lena et Mimile on rue Tournefort just behind the rue Mouffetard. It has a great value prix-fixe menu of 3 courses including wine and coffee. It should also be open in August.

Le Reminet served me my best meal during my last experience there....it was fantastic. SO was the service...

Another favorite of mine is Atelier Maitre Albert which is a Guy Savoy restaurant. Perfect service and very very good food.

These two restaurants happen to be located across from each other, too!

Oh August! I%26#39;m not sure if my two options are open then. I don%26#39;t think Le Reminet is....

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions - and taking the time to answer my post.

It%26#39;s always nice to have reccommendations, otherwise we%26#39;ll end up wasting time walking the streets checking out menus instead of enjoying the evenings.

Thanks again
