Gigantic problem with restaurants in Paris, August 15th

…canalblog.com/archives/…4222083.htlHaving had the lack of sense to be born on August 15th, many years ago, I now find myself having to celebrate a birthday in Paris on possibly the worst night of the restaurant year!

I%26#39;ve tried over 20 of my %26quot;first%26quot; choices -(in no particular order) - Le Timbre, Mon Viel Ami, Flora, Le Pamphlet, Atelier maitre Albert, La Madonnina, le Pre Verre, Le Reminet, Allard, Bouquinistes and so on!

I think La Petite Cour and Bouillon Racine are open? Any opinions?

Don%26#39;t want to spend more than about 90/100 euro per head and don%26#39;t want a classic, traditional, heavy cuisine - lyonnais etc. Also, would like to avoid the large brasseries if possible on this occasion. Looking for something a bit more romantic/attractive.

We are staying in St. Germain, rue Bonaparte and will probably have lunch in the Odeon brasserie unless long queues or the Square Trousseau.

I think that la Petite Cour has one of the most romantic interiors that I%26#39;ve ever seen. Having said that, I haven%26#39;t eaten there but I keep meaning to. The owners seem like very nice people.

Why is August 15th the worst %26quot;restaurant%26quot; night of the year? Because of Assumption Day????? Really?

Since you are staying on the Rue Bonaparte look at the Petit Zinc which is almost just next to the Cafe Bonaparte. It is a more up-scale restaurant than the Cafe Bonaparte.

You could try using www.bestrestaurantsparis.com

I%26#39;m pretty sure Senderens is open throughout August. There you would pay about 90 euros without drinks (Having had two rather recent meals there, that is what we paid)...And drinks were reasonably priced for Paris.

It%26#39;s wonderful...
