English Speaking Taxi Tip

We ordered a G7 taxi to take us to the airport from our apartment. They have a special number for english speaking customers

01-41-27-66-99. It was so easy to use. The driver arrived early, had a beautiful new BMW and was very friendly. It actually cost less than our trip from the airport.

|||

Can you please advise on the cost? We are doing our budget this week and trasportation to and from the airport is one I need to find out.

Cheers,

|||

We paid 36 euros for a ride from very near the Louvre to CDG. We were four people with four suitcases. We left on Saturday morning, so there was not too much traffic on the streets and the ride took less than half an hour. Have a great trip.

|||

did you use from airport to apartment? How many in your family?

TQ

|||

For the trip from the airport to the apartment we just got in the taxi queue and jumped in the cab that showed up. It was a different company, Taxi Parisian (?). The ride was a bit more expensive, about 42 euros, possibly due to traffic. The whole process was so simple, no french speaking or reading was needed. Once you%26#39;re through customs there are signs pointing to %26quot;Taxi%26quot;, and outside the line has ropes to keep everyone in order. There is an attendant who points you to the correct cab when it%26#39;s your turn.

Chrismom,

There are 4 in our family. Mom, Dad and two girls 12, and 15. We never had a problem with 4 in a cab, something I%26#39;d worried about before leaving. The driver cleared out his stuff from the passenger seat, the girls and I squeezed in the back and off we went.

|||

Don%26#39;t forget to take into account what time you%26#39;ll be using the taxi. There are significantly higher fares for nighttime (midnight-7am) and Sunday use.

|||

How significant is the increased fare on Sundays? Say from CDG to the Marais?

|||

Although fares are more on a Sunday, they work out not much more expensive because the lack of traffic makes the journey quicker. I think that taxis can charge 10 or 20 percent more, but last time we were in Paris, our taxi back to the airport worked out 5E cheaper due to lack of traffic.

Alternatively get a three day or five day metro Zone 1-5pass which covers your transfer from CDG on the RER suburban train into Paris.

For the cost of your taxi transfers you get free unlimited use of any RER, buses and metro underground trip during your stay including your transfers to and from the airport, Versailles....in fact anywhere within the Peripherique.

Tickets can be purchased from the RER station at CDG Terminal 3, just follow the blue and white RER signs from the Arrivals Hall....staff are very helpful and you%26#39;ll get a free map of the system and a tourist map of the centre of Paris. It%26#39;s fun and very easy.

Just tried to book a taxi with G7 to pick us up from the airport and take us to Hotel Tulip, Bussy St.George (near Disney). The operator exploained that this is not possible, they can only take us to not from the airport and explained that we would need to pick up a taxi from the rank.

We had a poor experience last year trying to get from CDG to Versailles which involved plane delays, getting caught in a thunderstorm, last train to Versaille %26amp; a half hour walk with bags to the hotel as all taxi drivers appeared to be en vacance.

Can any local experts advise if there would be a problrm getting taxis at CDG next Monday around 21.00h and secondly price to Bussy St.George, would it be differant from the G7 price.

The trip has been put together quickly and we cannot get TGV tickets as we were too late to purchase. Does anyone know of a system to book %26amp; print off online for the TGV or an agent in the UK.
