Longchamp

I%26#39;m going to Paris in about 9 days and I NEED to know where the Longchamp store is. I know they have them at departments stores and other places, but I%26#39;d love to go to the actual store. We are staying in Montparnasse (sp?), 14th district (?)

Did you try googling it? I just did a search and found it immediately:

21, RUE DU VIEUX-COLOMBIER

75006 Paris

|||

There%26#39;s one on r. St Honore (1st arr.), north side of the street, about a block or two east of r. Royale (the street that leads from the pl de la Concorde to the pl de la Madeleine).

|||

I%26#39;ve been in both stores and recommend the one on Rue St. Honore as being bigger and better.

|||

My daughter and I are visiting Paris and we have come across a couple of Longchamp stores -- one on Rue Faubourg St. Honore and one in the St. Germain des Pres district. I%26#39;m sure there are more. The prices are the same as in the department stores though the store has a wider selection. We just also came from La Vallee Shopping Outlets where there is a Longchamp outlet. Reduced prices but not much selection. If you like bright colors, then they have them (greens, oranges, teals, purples, fuchsia).

I%26#39;m thinking about buying a Longchamp tote. Where is La Vallee?

Again, Google, it%26#39;s the top result.

La Vallee outlets are about an hour%26#39;s drive to the outskirts of Paris. We booked tour bus transportation to La Vallee from the Cityrama office on Rue Rivoli by the Louvre. The bus goes on specific days (we went on a Sunday) and drops you off at La Vallee and picks you up as well. Bus returns to the Cityrama office. It was about 19 euros per person roundtrip. Check the Cityrama website. I think there is also a way to get there by metro and the regional trains. There is also a regular mall that is next to La Vallee but it was closed when we were there because it was Sunday. (La Vallee is open on Sundays.)

The Longchamp outlet, while providing good discounts, does not offer the selection that a regular store would. For example, the outlet has the loud colors, instead of the more classic neutrals and blacks. For a good selection, go to the Longchamp store on Rue St. Honore. If you buy merchandise over a certain amount, don%26#39;t forget to ask for the VAT refund form.

Also, do not expect outlets like you find in the U.S. Still cheaper to shop in the States. We could have skipped La Vallee.

Thanks. How much was the tote at La Vallee?

As far as color, I%26#39;m looking for a red or orange one to match my cashmere pashmina.

LV - if you%26#39;re looking for something that specific, I would go to the main store on Rue St. Honore where the selection is better, rather than the outlet. I don%26#39;t know what the difference in cost would be between a bag at the outlet vs. the main store, but if you consider time and transport cost out to the outlet mall, along with the risk that they may not carry the color you want, you may be better off staying in Central Paris. Feel free to ignore this advice if you want to go to the outlet anyway!
