within an hour of St Tropez

My mother is looking after our baby on her own for a weekend at the beginning of September and wants to be within an hour of where we are staying in Croix-Valmer near St Tropez. She is then coming to join us for the rest of the week.

Any ideas where she could stay for the weekend? Somewhere nice and friendly but not incredibly expensive, preferably in a town or village she can wander around with the baby. Doesn%26#39;t have to be on the coast either.

Valbonne is a charming village 8 miles inland from Cannes. It%26#39;s a great place to wander with numerous small shops and restaurants to enjoy. We%26#39;ve often stayed at the Hotel les Armoiries which is very centrally positioned:
