Train from Montpellier to Vias

Hi

My family %26amp; i are going to Vias-Plage at the end of August %26amp; we are flying into Montpellier %26amp; can see there is a train station at Vias

Can anyone tell me if there is a direct train from Montpellier to Vias %26amp; are there taxis available at Vias train station?

We we be traveling week day %26amp; will be in montpellier from about 2:30pm

Ive found some information but mostly about the train stopping at Adge which is i think the station before vias

Any info would be much appreciated, thank you

I was over that way not long ago. The station at Vias was closed many years ago. Agde is only 3km away and the station there looked pretty busy with taxis etc although my view was from a train window as I didn%26#39;t get off there.

Ignore that last post - the station at Vias is not closed but it might as well be. It is not listed in the timetables on the sncf website nor in the ones I have here, not even on the map. My train must have gone through it at a rate of knots.

But if you search a bit deeper the site confesses to three weekday trains Montpellier to Vias at 619am, then at 328 and 554pm. Journey about 40 minutes.

ter-sncf.com/languedoc/…iti_1_phonetic.asp

is the page.

Looking at that I would go to Adge in any case!

Thank you for the replys, really appreciated

I think we will get the train to Adge as you have suggested as it looks like it will be easier to get a taxi from there to our destination which looks like only a few miles away.

Are the trains to adge the same times as the one to vias? or are they more frequent?

I keep getting the error message below everytime i go on the sncf web site %26amp; i enter montpellier to adge using the english version

timetables (Valid until 07/07/2007)

Nous sommes dans l%26#39;impossibilité de traiter votre demande

So any help again appreciated!!

I have the printed timetable for Montpellier to Agde and yes the trains are more frequent and yes also the SNCF website seems to to be broken - it doesn%26#39;t have the current route timetable for some odd reason.

Here are the afternoon trains Montpellier to Agde:

1430 arrive 1504 local train no reservations needed

1458 arrive 1538 TGV reservations essential

1528 arrive 1605 local train

1624 arrive 1659 local train

1659 arrive 1737local train

1718 arrive 1755 local train

But as usual in France there are all sorts of ifs, ands and buts however there is a train about once an hour or better, unless it%26#39;s a weekday public holiday in which case only the 1458 and the 1718 operate.

I hope you make it after all this!
