Where to stay in Mougin

I think the town of Mougin sounds great. However, we were unable to book rooms at Le Mas Candille and they suggest their sister hotel Les Muscadins. Does this sound like a good option or do any of you have any other suggestions. We would like to be able to walk to town. Thank you.

Having had the pleasure of staying at both Hotels I can thoroughly recommend Les Muscadins, beautiful, small %26amp; intimate, great staff and you can use the facilities of Le Mas Candille (they provide a courtesy shuttle on request), The old village of Mougins with it%26#39;s great choice of Restaurants %26amp; Art Galleries, along with wonderful views, is on the doorstep. Enjoy!

the town of mougin is very magical at nite and we thouroughly enjoyed our stay four summers ago. we also chose to stay at les muscadins because the website looked very nice and we are room snobs. we booked the suite w/ the iron canopy bed. upon our arrival the whole suite had a strange foul odor. there was no one to help with our luggage and there are alot of steep stairs. after walking to the town which is around the corner we decided to ask for a new room when we went back. no problem since we were the only guests staying there. we were told the hotel was going out of business the next week! the clerk apologized for the sewer back up which they knew about and gave us a front room w/ balcony(on the current website w/ suitcases by the bed). it looks like the same bed in the current pics and i hope they changed the mattress because my husband and i still joke about the horrible bed that sank in the middle and we both had to sleep while holding on to the edge!

i can%26#39;t believe all of the interior and room pics look the same if they were supposed to have changed hands. despite all our issues it was a nice time and i have their beautiful menu framed in our bathroom as a reminder...enjoy your stay!!

Tillie12gardner Thank you for your reply, however after reading westielover%26#39;s post I am a bit concerned. Did you stay there after the new ownership and if so did they make the appropriate changes like the mattresses and the sewer problem? Did you stay there in the last few years that is after westielover%26#39;s bad experience. Thank you so much for any help

Dear Francophile, I stayed at this hotel in August 2004 %26amp; July 2006, and had a wonderful stay on both occasions. I do know that they was some speculation last summer that the hotel was for sale, but one way to be sure if it has changed ownership would be to contact the management of %26#39;Les Mas Candille%26#39; . I have noticed that there are still favourable reviews posted here by people who have stayed this year, 2007, so it could possibly still be owned by %26#39;Les Mas Candille%26#39; or at least still managed by them. You could e.mail Mr Torkington GM of Les Mas Candille via that hotels website. Hope this helps.

Dear tillie12gardner, thank you for your prompt response and the excellent idea to e-mail the GM at Le Mas Candille. This will answer all my questions. I will let you know if I hear back. Again, thank you

Les Muscadins is still under the management of Le Mas Candille. It was bought by the owner a few years ago so I am sure it will be fime. Thanks all.
