Biking outside Lyon

I am bringing my son who is 20 to Lyon this weekend.

I am hoping to hear from someone that does long distance biking.

He wants to ride in the mtns....pretend he is on the Tour de France lol

No really, would love a hook-up with anyone who knows the area and/or maybe knows of a biking club or forum in Lyon where he could hook up with someone for a ride?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi there !

Sorry I don%26#39;t know much about biking, I%26#39;m not a biker myself...

If you want %26quot;soft%26quot; mountain rides, then you can easily reach the %26quot;Monts du Lyonnais%26quot; (20 Km west of Lyon) then further to the Bourbonnais (north), or Auvergne (west), or Pilat and Ardèche + Drome (south).

If you are %26quot;tough%26quot; riders, then you should move eastwards - preferably by train at first - to the Alps, to such cities as : Chambery, Annecy, Albertville... From there, the Alps are yours.

Sorry I can%26#39;t tell you more, there are a few forums on the web, but they are all in French. Maybe you can - once arrived - get in touch with the Lyon tourist office , sure they will provide to advice.

Good luck, enjoy your rides !

Thanks for taking the time to write!

Yup...not for me. I am staying back at the pool ;)

He is a strong rider. He will usually ride a 100 miles when out.

But, it%26#39;s flat.

I appreciate the information.
