Where to stay in Nice - centrally located with a sea view

We have decided to stay in Nice based on the recommendations of this board. Therefore, we are now looking for a hotel in Nice that is centrally located and a room with a sea view. Any suggestions? Thank you!

The best view is undoubtedly the Suisse, tucked in under the Colline du Chateau on the curve of the Baie

At the more %26quot;budget%26quot; end (still pricey) there%26#39;s the two Mercure Hotels - Promenade des Anglais (must pay premium for sea view!) and the smaller Marche aux Fleurs

Theres the ultra luxury, price to match, of the Negresco and Palais de Mediterrannee, or ultramodern miserablist Beau Rivage

And there s the very pleasant run of the mill Westminster and the West End

Last resort the beautifully located, but ugly as the Costa Concrete, Le Meridien

My vote goes to the Westminster. We have stayed there twice and enjoyed both visits.

Hello

Sound advice. I%26#39;ll vote for the Negresco--one of the very few luxury hotels still in private hands with that special old-world feel. It is also very good value and many of the guests are %26quot;habitués%26quot;.

The Palais de la Mediterranée is unspeakably vulgar (it has a casino downstairs--full of the wrong kind of Russians and Gulf people).

Swiss has a superb view as pointed out above but I haven%26#39;t been inside same for the Westminster (also very well situated).

Your decision, now.

Have a good trip
