looking for nice lively streets to roam around st. germain and latin quarter with cafes, boutiques and so on.

the Bd St Germain, of course a very busy traffic lane, with a lot of shops, boutiques and the Café Flore on Place St Germain des Prés, the best %26quot;mille feuilles%26quot; in Paris : Pierre Hermé, 72 rue Bonaparte near Place St Sulpice, the Rue de la Seine and surroundings (lot of art galleries), rue Buci, rue St André des Arts and the Cour du Commerce St André (avoid a dinner at the Procope Café, better have a drink or a meal at Pub St Germain next door), Place St Michel (metro and RER station), rue de la Huchette and surroundings (Avoid ALL the restaurants there), at a few steps Notre Dame de Paris and Ile Saint Louis, then more south Jardin du Luxembourg) .....

As noted above, you can take pretty much all of the %26#39;..wedge..%26#39; of the upper-6éme--Saint Germain des Prés---from Blvd. Saint Germain to the Seine and Blvd. Saint Michel to rue des Saints Pères (this is simply a rough guide). Within and around these rough boundries you will find more than enough good restaurants, bistros and cafés to suit almost any appetitie, taste, mood or budget....more than enough intersting stores and shops to max-out all but AMEX %26#39;..black..%26#39; in an afternoon, interesting art and cultural venues (from local art galleries to the Institute de France, Academie des Beaux Arts and Musée National Eugène Delacroix.

You%26#39;ll also find that this neighborhood %26#39;..flows..%26#39; almost seamlessly into other interesting and active neighborhoods of the 6éme (just south of Blvd. Saint Germain to the Jardin du Luxambourg and along and about the rue du Bac....as well as to the east, across the Blvd. Saint Michel into the upper-5éme into the Latin Quarter and to the north across the Seine to the neighborhoods of the 4éme--Îles / lower-Marais and 1er--Louvre / Tuileries. You could easily stand at the exits from the ODÉON Metro station, close your eys and spin yourself around and when you stop and open your eyes, head in whichever direction you were facing, begin strolling and find places and things that will attract your attention and hold your interest for the rest of the day. In addition to this, these neighborhoods are one of the most severe tests for any who might engage in %26#39;..Comparative Café Chair Comfort,,%26#39; research...and novices to this most demanding of Parisian research endeavors (at least that%26#39;s my story...and I%26#39;m stickin%26#39; to it) should %26#39;..pace..%26#39; thermselves accordingly.
