Hotel Regina or Hotel du Louvre?

Planning a trip with my husband and 2 adult children to celebrate my daughter%26#39;s 21st birthday. Wanted something special but not breaking the bank. Heard the Hotel Regina and the Hotel du Louvre were good. Has anyone stayed at either and is one better?

Both of them are nice and not too far from each other. Good location. I guess it will depend on the type of room you are getting.

I think it is always good to ask for a room that has been recently renovated and also a room that is not facing the street (unless there is a view).

Well, well, well--it is very difficult to avoid facing the street at the Hotel du Louvre since it is islanded by rue St Honoré, avenue de l%26#39;Opéra, rue de Rivoli and the square across the Conseil d%26#39;Etat. The situation is ideal however and I am sure the rooms are sound-proofed. I know nothing about Regina other than its address on the very busy rue de Rivoli--but there is a chance it may have rooms at the back. Both are perfect for sight-seing. You might try the Intercontinental on the rue de Rivoli which has a very quiet and pleasant central courtyard--the outdoor restaurant is marvellous in summer. Whether prices are higher or lower than the others, I have no idea.
