Is there a tourist event of some sort in Ambois the week of Aug 27? I cannot find any accomodations available after the 27th. Any suggestions of great unknowns I can try? We need accomodations for three and I will not have a car even though everyone says get a car.

Amboise is not a great place to be without a car - the station is the other side of a very long bridge from town (so far that you can%26#39;t see the station on any arial photos of Amboise).
I cant see that there is any spectacular happening in Amboise that week, but I do seem to remember a huge car rally (volkswagens everywhere!) bing in the area this time last year. Maybe it%26#39;s an annual thing.
