SCNF booking for train

Hi,

I have some queries on train travel. If I book tickets from SCNF website and print out my confirmation, do I have to show it to the

counter staff on arrival at train station? I understand that Rail pass need to be validated before boarding, how about point to point reservation ticket?

am planning to take train from cdg airport to Avignon. When the train conductor checks, I can just show him my printout?

Thanks.

Do a search in this forum for %26quot;MorganB%26#39;s guide%26quot; and you%26#39;ll find all the general info you need.

More specifically, if you buy a prem (discounted) fare from the SNCF website and you opt for printing your ticket at home, then the printout IS your ticket. You should make sure you have the credit card you used to buy with you on the trip, but otherwise you can get right on the train with the printout.

If you selected one of the other options, such as picking up a ticket via automated machine or at a ticket office, then the printout you have is a confirmation only, but not the actual ticket, which you must obtain before boarding the train. Again, make sure you have with you the credit card you used for the original purchase.

Hi, Thanks for the advise.

I will book all my train in advance for better deals.

That%26#39;s the best way to do it if you know you%26#39;ll be taking the train at specific dates and times. You can purchase tickets up to but not more than 3 months ahead of your travel dates. Some of the best prem fares on popular routes are only available during the first week or so.
