Can anyone shed some light on the pros %26amp; cons of taking the A86 around Paris heading south rather than taking the inner perephique?
Last year we took the inner perephique %26amp; hit some traffic delays. Are we more or less likely to have a smooth run (or smoother) taking the A86?
Thanks for any help.

I assume you are heading from Calais.
I always go A26/A4/A5 past Reims to Dijon and then south.
Find that route always smooth and fairly quiet.
If you have to go to Paris for a specific reason then I would say avoid the perepherique if you can.

Thanks, Neal,
Unfortunately, time is of the essence otherwise we would go via Riems, or alternatively, Rouen. However, we have to be down past Murcia in Spain for the Saturday am %26amp; we don%26#39;t leave the UK until the Thursday pm, so as straight a route as possible is what we need....with as few %26quot;bouchons%26quot; as possible!

By the way, yes, we are coming from Calais on the Eurotunnel.

Probably telling you the obvious here but if I am going round Paris I get a route off:

Let your passenger read the directions as you go through the busy sections and usually we come out the other side unscathed!!
Have a good trip

We (or I should say -my husband!) downloads it off-line onto our lap top, so we just open that up %26amp; go from there. Don%26#39;t ask me how he does it...I haven%26#39;t got a clue!!!!
I think we%26#39;re going to take our chances with the A86. It%26#39;s all experience!

We would all like to hear how you get on please.

JBart,
I%26#39;ll post on here when we get back at the end of September.
Only one week to go until we travel down. Can%26#39;t wait!!!
