Modern/High End Hardware stores

Here%26#39;s an obscure question for the experts... Where in central Paris can I find a hardware store that would have modern chrome cabinet handles??? Phillipe Starck type designs not Versailles-esque!

My bathroom vanity cabinet came from Italy with the holes for handles drilled (they werent supposed to) and I%26#39;d love to find replacement handles in Paris. They%26#39;re 160mm, so very hard to find in the US.

It%26#39;s always worth looking in Bazaar de Hotel de Ville (BHV) - you never know what you might find in their basement hardware department - we%26#39;ve spent many a happy hour browsing to buy hard to come buy items:

There are several stores with fairly high end bathroom and kitchen cabinets and fixtures on bd Saint Germain, especially toward the bd St Michel end - they likely would have at least catalogs with various handles, and could help you locate sources.

BHV also has cabinet handles on the 5th floor.

Hotel De Ville is definitely on my list... Thank you for the other suggestions B.T.

For your information, Ikea has quite a few kitchen door handles 160 mm. I know it isn%26#39;t Starck, but it might be worth a look! Their assortment differs per country - from their online catalog, I got the impression that they have more 160mm handles in Europe than in the US.

You can check out their assortment online: www.ikea.fr

Go to %26quot;Cuisine%26quot; --%26gt; Accessoires cuisine --%26gt; Boutons et poignées

%26quot;Espacement des trous%26quot; indicates the distance between the holes.

You could also try the Leroy Merlin hardware store - They have a store in Paris, very close to the Centre Pompidou. They also have an online catalog: www.leroymerlin.fr (I saw only one or two modern design chrome handles with a 160 mm %26quot;entraxe%26quot;, as they call it there, but maybe it%26#39;s just what you like).

Danku Vel!

BHV would be my first choice also, but have you tried Gracious Home in Manhattan?

I got some gorgeous ones at the Quincaillerie on the Blvd. St. Germain (I believe the place was called %26quot;La Quincaillerie%26quot;)...it is very close to the very end of the Blvd St. Germain, near the Institut du Monde Arabe. THey had HUNDREDS of cool knobs.

It looks very cool.

Gracious Home and Simons (which is way better than Gracious Home - 2 stores full of handles and knobs). I settled on ones from Simons, but dont love them!

They dont have to be Philippe Starck - was just using that as an example of the style I was seeking...
