I was in Paris 2 weeks ago or so and the day after I got back I was strolling down the streets of Manhattan.
It seemed to me that there were more English speakers in Paris than there were in New York City.

O.K. Pixfield, forgive me if I sound a bit nosy, but I%26#39;m curious to know how you had time to stroll around Manhattan after having spent 2 weeks in Paris.

Well, I live right outside of Manhattan and after I got back from Paris I was suffering withdrawal symptoms. So, I strolled around Manhattan visiting my favorite French pastry shops then I went to see the movie %26quot;Avenue Montaigne%26quot;
Thanks for the clarification, Pixfield.
Try strolling Madison Ave on the upper East Side, ,esp. btw Thanksgiving and Xmas, If you hear any English it is usually with a Southern drawl! Or coming from someone deeply tanned!
And $1.99 for a halfway decent croissant!!!
What did you think of %26quot;Avenue Montaigne%26quot; ?
Anne,
It was OK, but not great. If you love Paris, you will enjoy the movie and I recommend it. In any case, it soothed my Paris withdrawal pangs.
Oh really ? Well, actually I loved it !
Glad to hear that AnneParis! It%26#39;s coming to Baltimore soon - it%26#39;s the feature at the local art movie house%26#39;s Sunday brunch series. So if I don%26#39;t get to see it this weekend it looks like I%26#39;ll be able to soon. At the very least, I will be able to hear some French :)
