Traffic from CDG

I%26#39;ve read all the pros and cons regarding the choice of taxi or shuttle from CDG into Paris. I have decided to go with a taxi and believe the various fares seem to be between 45-65 euros depending on the traffic. My question concerns just that, the traffic. If we arrive on Wednesday October 3rd at approximately 10:00am and add about 90 minutes to get luggage and clear customs, how will the traffic be leaving CDG at 11:30am and going to the Latin Quarter?

Traffic in Paris is before 10:00 - unless there is an accident or traffic on the peripherique. At 11:30 it should be clear sailing!

65 euros should get you there, depending on the number of luggage pieces you have. Generally, at that time of the day you should be ok. But as in any large cities like Paris, no one can ever be sure. If you%26#39;re worried about this, another option is to use the Air France Cars to get into the city, then travel by metro or cab to your hotel: but if you decide on the cab option and there are at least two of you, you won%26#39;t be saving that much money.

From our experience, we now travel from CDG to Paris by cab. Less of a hassle when on jet lag. To help the driver, make sure you know in which arrondissement your hotel is, and better still, the criss-cross streets.

Hello,

We arrived at CDG at 10 am on a Wednesday in early August. After clearing immigration and collecting our luggage, our drive to the Latin Quarter via taxi took approximately 50 minutes and cost 50 Euro without tip. Bon voyage.

Interesting trail- do you tip cab drivers in Paris? If so, what is the standard?

Thanks

NO tips for the driver are included within Paris taxi fares. As for how much you tip...or not...There is no fixed protocol for tipping taxis. Your own l usual custom and practice will decide the matter. Some tip nothing. Some will simply round-up the metered fare and applicable added surcharges (1 € for aeach bag after the 1st..2,80€ ea for 4th %26amp; 5th passengers) to the nearest €uro..and that%26#39;s it. Some will offer a €uro or two above the metered fare %26amp; surcharges.....some will tip 10 % of the metered fare....and some will tip more, if the driver performs some special or remarkable service. So you decide which suits your usual tipping custom %26amp; practice best...and that%26#39;s pretty much it.

Thanks for all the info hopefully we will clear the airport sooner than later and start our trip early with lots of the day ahead of us.
