Nice/Monaco

Hello, please help,,,,

We will arrive Nice early morning on Sunday and would like to enjoy Nice for 3-4 hours and later to go to Monaco because our cruise depart at midnight. Can anybody let us know where we can leave our luggage in Nice (airport, train station or bus station). If we want to go to Old Town and have a breakfast in Nice and later take some transportation (bus or train...which is better???) to Monaco...what can you recommend to do...

Is 3-4 hours for each of both places will be enough....?

Thank you.

Hiya,

Firstly, there is a forum for Nice itself and you would be more likely to get a reply on there that might help out...

As far as I know, as a regular traveler to Nice, there are no left luggage places in the city. They were all closed after September 11th.

The old town is great, filled with cafes. Unfortunately I always breakfast in a Belgian cafe near Nice%26#39;s Anglican church, so I can%26#39;t recommend any particular place for breakky.

As for getting to Monaco, the bus takes about an hour. The train is slightly quicker (around 40 mins from memory), more expensive AND has the most amazing views of the spectacular coast line.

I, personally, don%26#39;t think Monaco is the most exciting place on the Riviera. The port is pleasant, and the castle and gardens are nice, but it is very concrete and busy. 3-4 hours would definitely be enough for me in Monaco, but Nice is more of a whole day kind of city.

Hope this helps, if not try the Nice forums :-)

Enjoy your visit.

Forget about Monaco with only a few hours to go, even though as previously said the train ride from Nice is spectacular. I suggest you go on the Nice Forum. I have posted an itinerary for the Old Town and the market at the Cours Saléya that could cover a good 3 to 4 hours on your day in Nice.

As for luggage, I remember seeing a depot at the train station but can%26#39;t say it is still going on. I shall check for the bus station as it is closer to the Old Town.

BTW does your cruise departs from Nice or Monaco?

You can leave your bags at Terminal 1 of the Nice Airport. Means you have to come back to pick%26#39;em up... Here%26#39;s what I found.
