Can I avoid lines @ Louve? Other tips for 1st wknd in Paris?

We are visiting Paris for the wknd from Germany arriving late Friday night and leaving Sunday afteroon. Doing a city tour with guidatour and cruise Siene half day Saturday. We finish the tour at noon. How do I avoid wasting time in the lines at the Louve mid-day? Any other tips for our 1st wknd in Paris?

Either buy a one-day museum pass which allows you to skip the sales line, or go early before the Louvre opens so you are in the front of the line or go toward the end of the day when the line has shortened.

Enter by the stairway on the left or right of carrousel du Louvre, it will bring you down into the museum space where you can buy a ticket from a vending machine. You can also enter the museum througk metro line 1, stop palais royal musee du louvre and exit musee du Louvre. Then vending machine. Or you can enter by carrousel du Louvre at rue de Rivoli (metro Palais Royal musee du Louvre). Louvre is busy if you want to see the regular stuff like everybody else but if you feel adventurous there are many rooms that are less visited.

Easiest way to avoid queues is to buy the Museum Pass or a tour that will include the Louvre.

Good luck.

If you want to avoid the crowds to enter the museum, there´s an entrance that seems to be ignored by most of the tourists, Port de Lions, on the Quai Francois Mitterand near the Arc du Carrousel (facing the Pyramid, on your right). You can enter there with your museum pass or advanced ticket, or you can buy the ticket there.

This entrance is at street level, you don´t have to go uderground.

To the right of the lines there is a kiosk (similar to self check-in at airport) that I guess most people think is an ATM machine. Simply walk up and use your credit card then you%26#39;re in! You%26#39;ll only have to deal with security which is quick.
